Most of the people suffer from this problem in their life . They might think that bad breath is because of their oral hygiene or some of them might be confused that why they are having bad breath even after brushing, so lets answer these questions and clear all our doubts.
WHAT IS BAD BREATH?
Bad breath or Halitosis: It is basically that pungent smell which comes from the oral cavity.
WHY IT HAPPENS ?
Although the main cause can be of this is that it happens because of the food particles that stays in your oral cavity and lets in contact with the bacteria that stays in your mouth and secrete volatile Sulphur compounds which is the main cause of bad breath.
But what if you are maintaining your oral hygiene properly and still facing this issue?
Don’t worry bad breath can be caused by other reasons too for example the diet you are taking, if you are having gastric issues and dry mouth.
If bad breath is coming from your mouth it indicates that the patient suffering from dental problem. If the bad breath is only coming from the nose the cause can be due to some type of sino-nasal issues like a sinus infection, but if the bad breath come from both the nose and mouth this suggests that the bad breath coming from the throat or the lungs.
SO HOW TO DETECT BAD BREATH? & ITS TREATMENT.
If you want to detect bad breath you can do finger scratch and sniff test that is you have to gently scratch with a fingernail the front or back surface of the tongue and sniffing the material collected on the finger.
After detecting the main area from where the bad breaths is coming only when we can proceed with further treatments. Although if the bad breath is only coming from your mouth then you need to brush your teeth and tongue as well. You can also use tongue scraper and mouthwash. But if you are having dry mouth then that can be caused by various medications, salivary gland problems or breathing through your mouth. For that you can try sugar free candies and gums to generate saliva.
Even after this if you still face the problem then that can be a sign of advanced gum disease which is caused by plaque.
